Tulipa kaufmanniana 'Showwinner' has been certified the Award of Garden Merit, and that is not for nothing! Tulipa kaufmanniana 'Showwinner' is a perfect red, flowers early, and is neither too small nor too big. She returns – if planted in a warm and fertile spot – every year and will even, albeit a little, naturalise.
We like to plant Tulipa kaufmanniana 'Showwinner' in our own garden in combination with the blues of Scilla bifolia (Alpine squill) and Scilla siberica (Siberian squill). A striking result!
Tulipa kaufmanniana 'Showwinner' flowers early. Depending on the weather she’ll come up as early as in the beginning of March, to then flower in April. This Tulip starts to flower low down, only to flower still higher during the flowering period.
