A white Snake’s head fritillary. The white bell-like flowers of Fritillaria meleagris 'Alba' appear every spring. In the wild Snake’s head fritillaries grow in damp, peaty or loamy meadows. When happy they’ll naturalise quickly. Wood anemone flowers at the same time and is therefore a good planting partner.

Snake’s head fritillaries originally come from southern Europe, although in the last few centuries they have become naturalised in northern Europe too. Fritillaria meleagris 'Alba' combines well with: Erythronium ‘Pagoda’ (Dog’s tooth violet) and Anemone nemorosa (Wood anemone).

The loose bulbs are susceptible to drying out: please plant them immediately. The bulbs can be stored for a short while in the fridge (frost free).
