The green collar beneath the flower of Eranthis cilicica is smaller and finer than that of Eranthis hyemalis, which means that the flower stands out more. Eranthis cilicica is native to Iraq and Afghanistan and needs a sunnier aspect than Eranthis hyemalis.
Winter aconites are lovely when combined with Crocuses, Snowdrops (Galanthus), and Spring snowflakes (Leucojum vernum). If you're planting Winter aconites in sandy soil, then mix in a good amount of leafmould (or compost) with clay minerals first.
The loose bulbs are prone to drying out: please plant immediately after receiving.
